Dear all,

The organisational committee is very pleased to invite you to the Research School's fifth biennial conference, which will take place 28-30 August 2009 at Sandbjerg, situated in the South of Denmark.

The theme of the conference is "The Modern Field".

The conference will consist of plenary sessions with key note lectures by among others Marilyn Strathern. In addition to the key note lectures, there will be six parallel running thematic workshops and you are all invited to present a paper at one of the workshop sessions (please see attached call for papers).

Attached to this message you will find:
- The call for papers, including descriptions of the workshops and the overall theme;
- A registration form that you are asked to return to adrienne.heijnen@hum.au.dk together with your abstract (if you intend to present a paper), Monday 12 January 2009
at the latest;

Prices and Cancellation:
The Research School pays all expenses related to travel and stay for the members of the Research School (staff and PhD students of The Centre for Comparative Cultural Studies and the Department of  Anthropology, both of the University of Copenhagen and of the Department of Anthropology and Etnography, University of Aarhus). 

External participants are required to pay their own expenses, which will be ca. 1350 dkr. a day for room and meals, and 500 dkr. for transport by train (from Copenhagen). The exact price varies according to period of stay and place of departure and will therefore be sent to you upon registration.  

Cancellation can take place free of charge until 27 June 2009. Cancellation taking place in the period 28 June 2009 - 13 August 2009 will cost 325 dkr per day. If cancellations are made after 13 August 2009, the full price for a room of 1100 dkr. per day will be charged.
